Hello everyone,
My name is Dan Suter and I have just purchased a '64 Courier fastback coupe, E1115. It will be a total restoration project.
It is a square-tubed chassis car with MGB engine, independent rear suspension (what an interesting design!), LHD, and wire wheels. Roger Dunbar provided some build information for including the following:
" E1115 .. Dated July '63; GT coupe LHD; Poly Green; tan trim; MGB POWER #18 GUH 22640; shipped to Auto Mart (Micha) March '64"
There is definitely evidence of the tan interior but my main reason for writing is to ask if anyone might have any reference info or even a good picture to give me an idea of what Poly Green looks like. Was there a standard list of colors during the MkIII/MkIV period for the cars built at Trojan?
Also, does anyone know where the 'Auto Mart' dealer or distributor was in the US? (Long shot but I thought I'd ask...!).
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Poly Green color for Trojan built Couriers
Dan,
Welcome and congrats on finding a rare Courier.
As to your question of "standard" colors, I kind of chuckled. I don't know that anything was standard on these cars. Seems each one is a little different.
On the color you are asking about, The word "poly" is just a different term for metallic. So metallic green it is.
Here's a couple of links to the only ones I could find.

Good luck on your restoration!

Roger has a photo of a green Mk.4 that I wouldn't have called BRG.
Interesting options if you like the color; it would stand out on a rare bird like a coupe.
Still can't ID the color or owner, in order to ask #'s.

when I had the original color analyzed, found in other layers, the closest was a Dahaitsu "Dark green" color![Image]()
